The S.T.A.R Method

​The STAR method is a structured interview technique used to answer behavioral questions, which are typically those that start with "Tell me about a time when..." or "Give an example of...". The acronym stands for Situation (setting the scene and providing necessary context), Task (describing the goal or duty you were responsible for), Action (explaining the specific steps you personally took to address the situation or complete the task), and Result (detailing the positive outcome of your actions and what you learned). By using this method, you provide the interviewer with a clear, concise, and compelling evidence-based example of your skills and competence in a past professional setting.
